Freeway Pt.2- "The Truth About Us" We live in a fast-paced, noisy world and often the speed of life keeps us from hearing the voice of Christ. One of the biggest obstacles to freedom is our blind spots. We are blind to the toxic beliefs, patterns, and behaviors that are running in the background of our heart and soul. The first step to getting free from the inside out is to slow down, look at your life and ask Jesus for the help only He can give.

Freeway Pt.1 "A Welcome Home Party"- In every story there is beauty and there is pain. And no one can escape either one. The problem however, is that we often lack the transparency required to walk through our lives honestly with people. We cover up our scars and try to look squeaky clean for everybody, while in reality we’re living a very different life. We post Instagram photos that make our families look perfect. We will do anything to hide our damaged hearts and cover up just how disheveled we really are on the inside. But we don’t have to live in that anymore. There is freedom from your past, your present, your enemies, your memories, yourself. There is hope.

Vision Sunday 2016 "Make Your Move"- If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed. Proverbs 29:18

Whatchu Talkin' Bout? Pt.4- "Crazy Talk"  Everyone has or has had a person or two maybe even more whom they just didn’t see eye to eye with, or who they just didn’t get a long with. Maybe it's because of their actions towards us, or something they said about us or just because they are simply not like us.  We are conditioned to see others different than us, and those who have hurt us as enemies from the very beginning of our lives.  We think that we have right to love those who love us back and it’s ok to hate those who don’tbut Jesus teaches something radically different.

Whatchu Talkin' Bout? Pt.3- "Either One or the Other"  Money! Such an uncomfortable topic, yet Jesus had no problem talking about it. But when Jesus spoke about money, it was never about the money.  What Jesus said about money was hard for many to hear and it’s difficult for us too because the driving force behind what we do, where we go and even who we think we are, often comes back to our money and our things. However, the greatest test of our surrender to Jesus is what we do with our finances.

Whatchu Talkin' Bout? Pt.2- "Gains and Losses"  What does it mean to follow Jesus? It's an important question that many people wrestle with. Thankfully Jesus talked a lot about what it means to follow. Jesus brilliantly chooses a well known word picture to illustrate exactly what that would look like when he said, "if anyone wants to follow me they must deny themselves, take up their cross and follow me." This is a big statement that would have no doubt caught the attention and may have even completely scared those who heard it. But what does that mean and what does that have to do with you and your life? We are glad you asked!

Whatchu Talkin' Bout? Pt. 1- "Wait, Do What?" "You have heard that it was said… but I tell you... The attitude of fight back, it’s not fair, get even, is pervasive in our world. If we don’t get what we want or if we feel wronged we think it is our responsibility to make it right on our own terms.  In difficult and trying circumstances as a follower of Jesus, how we respond can make a huge difference. What is the appropriate response when we are attacked and mistreated by others? Does Jesus ask us to be “doormats” for the sake of the Gospel, or does he call us to something that is more challenging?

YOU+ME+WE Pt.5- "Beyond Just Me"  If our words can build up or tear down, then our actions can speak even louder than that. The way we live our lives, and the way we respond to things matters. As a follower of Jesus we have God given influence that extends beyond us to where ever you are at any given moment. Jesus describes it as salt and light. What if we lived with the awareness that in our relationships with our friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors that we may be the only picture of Jesus they ever see?

YOU+ME+WE Pt.4- "A Love Like That"  Love, is such a hard word to define. Everyone has an idea or thought of what love is supposed to look like but, there is no greater picture of what love is, and what it does, than when we look at Jesus. We will never be able to love fully or completely until we fully and completely receive the love of Jesus.

YOU+ME+WE Pt.3- "Thick and Thin" Commitment is a big scary word for so many people. We don’t like to feel tied down to any one thing… this translates to marriages, friendships, parenting and church communities… it is easier to give up, walk out, or move on instead of staying committed and faithful to the relationship. True commitment means staying loyal to what you said you were going to do long after the mood you said it in has left you.

YOU+ME+WE Pt.2- "Sticks and Stones"  Much of our relational mishaps are because of a communication breakdown.  The words we say, when we say them, and how we say them can make or break our relationships. Words build up or they tear down. We have the ability to speak life into our relationships or we can speak words of damage and destruction.

YOU+ME+WE Pt.1- "Relationship Goals"- We all have goals when it comes to our relationships, but the reality is, there is nothing easy about relationships. Relationships are complex and messy and yet at the same time our lives are never better than when we're in relationship with others.

New Thing Pt.4- "A New Family" One of the greatest gifts we receive as we enter into relationship with Christ is a new family in the form of the Church. Whether or not our individual family history or families of origin have been great, or challenging, there is something remarkably beautiful and life-giving about being brought into the family of God.

Easter at Cityline Church 2016- What if the resurrection of Jesus really happened? There are many thoughts and ideas about what may have happened, but what if the resurrection really happened? If it did, then it changes everything...

New Thing Pt.3- "A New Covenant"- “Do this in remembrance of me” with those simple words Jesus did a shocking New Thing in history. He inserted himself into a tradition and story that Jews had been telling a certain way for thousands of years. His words changed the meal Jesus’ was sharing with his disciples from being remembrance of the Exodus, to being an invitation to participate in his life and death and through him, find salvation, making himself the source of salvation and redemption and a catalyst for a new way of faith and commitment to God.

New Thing Pt.2- "The New Normal" -  To get a grasp of who God is and what God wants to do in our lives it will require a paradigm shift, or a fundamental change in approach to our underlying assumptions about God, our life and the way things work. God is not about simply improving upon an old thing, but God is all about doing a brand new thing. This is what God was doing through Jesus when Jesus arrives on to the pages of history in Marks gospel and proclaims that "no one puts new wine into old wineskins..."

New Thing Pt.1  "A New Season" God loves to do new things and sometimes in the most unconventional ways. God is always at work creating new things out of what may seem like nothing. God doesn’t ask can I do a new thing? or say I might do a new thing, he says I am doing a new thing, it’s happening, the question is are we even aware?
