Please note, on Sunday December 29, 2024, there will be no live on campus services as we observe an ALL-Church Sabbath Sunday. What is All-Church Sabbath Sunday and why is it important? We are glad you asked.

First, Sabbath Sunday allows us to take the last Sunday of the year to both honor and say thank you to our church leaders, staff, and serve teams for all their love and service to Cityline Church. And two, Sabbath Sunday is an opportunity to allow for an intentional time together as a church community to prioritize and engage the practices of presence and rest. It is a collective time of recharge, renewal and reconnection as we prepare and look ahead with great expectation for 2025.

As we continue to apprentice under Jesus and lean into healthy rhythms and practices that open us up to the work of God in our lives, we understand that rest is essential to our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Sabbath Sunday is not a day off, nor is it a day to catch up on your to do list or holiday cleaning, Sabbath Sunday is choosing meaningful rest that reminds us that we are meant to live dependent on the God who never gets tired, overwhelmed or weary.

We encourage you on December 29th to choose to rest, to spend time with friends or family sharing a meal and good conversation, to spend time with God allowing him to remind you of who you are, to rejuvenate your mind and refuel your soul.

Please note, all live, on campus services will resume January 5th as we kick off the 2025 together!

Need some ideas for Sunday Sabbath? Here are a few.

  • Do a social media fast– Commit to fasting from your social media apps for 24 hours.
  • Take time to Journal– Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you reflect on or examen 2024. Where has God shown up in the last 12 months, what is God teaching you?
  • Go for a walk– Go for a walk, pray as you walk, ask God what his goals are for you in 2025
  • Read– Engage the Bible. Pick a chapter and read, observe and write down what sticks out. Read book that is life giving, not time wasting.
  • Sleep– Sometimes the thing you need most is to physically take a nap or two.
