The Face of Grace

Aug 17, 2026    Troy De'Jzohn Mangram

Have you ever felt like you failed God so badly there was no coming back? Peter knew that feeling. After boldly following Jesus, he denied even knowing Him three times. Yet in John 21, Jesus meets Peter again—not with condemnation, but with grace and truth. Around another charcoal fire, Jesus confronts Peter’s failure, restores what shame had wounded, and reminds him that his calling is not over.

This teaching explores how Jesus responds to our guilt, shame, failure, and betrayal. Grace does not pretend the past didn’t happen, but neither does it allow our worst moments to have the final word. Grace confronts what is true, comforts what is wounded, and commissions what is restored. No matter how far you’ve drifted, Jesus still offers a way forward: “Follow me.”
